Education Program Guidelines *NAHB Courses and Seminars are referred to as “Class”, unless specifically addressed.
Registration: A person is considered registered for a Class at the time payment is received (check or credit card).
Cancellation by the HCHBA: The HCHBA will cancel a Class if there are less than 10 paid registrations by the time the Class materials must be ordered and/or a firm commitment is made to the instructor (currently 2 weeks prior to the planned Class date). In such a case, the HCHBA will first contact the registrants to offer the option of each registrant paying an additional fee (equal for all registrants) to achieve a breakeven as a condition to have the Class (the additional fee will not be reimbursed if there are additional late registrations). If a breakeven can not be reached, the HCHBA will cancel the Class and will fully refund all registration fees.
Cancellation by Registrant: Cancellations received at the office of the HCHBA at least 15 calendar days prior to the Class date: The registrant will receive a refund less a $25 processing and handling fee (If the 15th day falls on a weekend or public holiday it must be received on the prior business day). Cancellations received between 14 calendar days prior to and including the Class date: The HCHBA will try to find a replacement on a first come first served basis by contacting the membership via a blast email. (Not applicable if the registrant cancels the day of the Class). If a replacement is found, then the original registrant will receive a full refund and the replacement must pay the applicable registration and late fees. If no replacement is found, the original registrant will receive no refund since the HCHBA will incur costs for the Class materials ordered from NAHB and/or fees charged by the instructor. The original registrant will be given the option to keep the Class materials, except the registration or scantron forms (if applicable). However, they will not be able to use these materials if they register for a future class.
Late Registration: In addition to the registration fee, a late fee of $50 for NAHB Courses and $25 for Seminars will be due if a person registers after the Class materials must be ordered and/or a firm commitment is made to the instructor (currently 2 weeks prior to the planned Class date).
