Our Roots

The Hill Country Builders Association is a not for profit professional member organization dedicated to promoting, advocating and supporting the building and construction trades industries. The HCBA serves a 10 county region within the Central Texas Hill Country, including the Highland Lakes and Wine Country.

Our professional education programs focus on industry best practices and career development opportunities. Our members are also actively involved in a number of community leadership programs and youth initiatives that provide hands-on training and education for high school students and young adults.

The HCBA also serves as the region’s most credible resource for consumers looking to hire a reputable contractor or professional in the building industry.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to serve as a community leader and driving force behind the growth and prosperity of the residential and commercial building industries.

We’re actively engaged with a number of community leadership programs and youth initiatives which provide hands-on training and education for high school students and young adults. HCBA members volunteer and mentor with the Building Trades Education programs at Fredericksburg High School and Burnet High School as well as donate supplies and materials for the students’ ‘Tiny House’ building projects.

The HCBA also serves as the region’s most credible resource for consumers looking to hire a reputable contractor or professional in the building industry. Check out the Find-A-Contractor tab at the top of the page.

The Hill Country Builders Association is accredited through the Texas Association of Builders and the National Association of Home Builders.

Highland Lakes

The HCBA Highland Lakes Division holds one fundraising event each year, a golf tournament, along with the auction of a “tiny house” built by the students with assistance of Builder and Associate members in Llano, Burnet, San Saba, & McCulloch counties. Tickets to these events will also be tax deductible and will be used, for example, to support NAHB Student Chapters, and student projects such as building “tiny homes,” work study programs, mentoring programs, and career fairs and industry education for each of the independent school districts in the Highland Lakes HCBA’s four-county jurisdiction.

Wine Country

The HCBA Wine Country Division holds two fundraising events each year, the sporting clay’s tournament and a bowling tournament, as well as the auction of a “tiny house” built by the students with assistance of Builder and Associate members in Gillespie, Blanco, Mason, Kerr, Kimble, and Menard counties. Tickets to these events will also be tax deductible and will be used, for example, to support NAHB Student Chapters, and student projects such as building “tiny homes,” work study programs, mentoring programs, and career fairs and industry education for each of the independent school districts in the Wine Country HCBA’s six-county jurisdiction.
